I just found something interesting via ZDNet. Your Facebook passwords are not
“completely” case-sensitive! You can actually log into your Facebook account with 3 passwords. No, you don’t have to create 3 passwords. The other two passwords are made from your chosen password. I know it sounds a bit confusing, lets see it in detail.
What are the 3 passwords you can use to log in to your Facebook account?
- Your default password.
(Ex: tEcHoClOcK) - Your default password with case reversed.
(Ex: TeChOcLoCk) - Your default password with first letter capitalized.
(Ex: TEcHoClOcK)
The third password works only with mobile devices because some mobiles capitalize the first letter automatically.
This ensures that you don’t face problems logging in to your account if your “Caps Lock” is on or if your mobile device automatically capitalizes the first letter!
Is this a bug?
No, it has been confirmed by Facebook that this isn’t a bug and this technology has been designed by keeping common user mistakes in mind. You don’t need to worry because this won’t affect your account security in any way as the same password you have chosen is used!
Smart work Facebook ;-)
