Using an Android smart phone, but couldn’t find the best internet browser? Though I am quite satisfied with the default internet browser Android has, I thought of trying some others available in the Android market. Here’s a list of top 5 Android internet browsers that I tried over a period of one month and liked them. The browsers are ordered in a decreasing order according to my ratings with the top one being the best.
Opera Mini Web Browser
Opera Mini, as they say is the fastest web browser available in the market for mobile phones. I am not sure about other mobiles available in the market, but after using Opera Mini I concluded that it’s REALLY the fastest browser for Android mobile phones! Web pages loaded in almost no time. I was able to see videos, download images and attachments in no time! One of the features I like about Opera is, tabbed browsing which gives you a computer like experience allowing you to browse multiple sites simultaneously. Believe me, Opera Mini tabbed browsing is FAST! Opera Mini is just 755 Kilobytes in size. So download it now if you’re not already using it!
Dolphin Browser HD
Not sure how many of you might have heard about Dolphin Browser HD, but I am sure those who have heard about it and are using it CANNOT leave it! Dolphin browser not only offers high quality browsing, but ranks second in my speedy browsing test.
Dolphin browser comes with powerful add-ons, colorful themes, multiple tabs browsing, multi-touch pinch zooming, not to forget GOOD graphics!
As the name says Dolphin browser has high definition graphics. You can view images, menus, buttons, etc. in high quality graphics.
Skyfire Web Browser
Skyfire browser makes your mobile web browsing experience a lot better. It makes web browsing smarter, richer and yes, FUN! Skyfire is quite fast and has a good design which further makes browsing enjoyable! It comes with Google reader, flash support enabling you to view videos easily, Twitter integration ensuring you don’t have to use a Twitter client and user agent switching option (Basically for advanced users. Others can use it as well).
It has been ranked at number 2 by both Yahoo and TechCrunch. I rank it at number 3 though! :)
Mozilla Firefox
Here’s the most popular browser for web browsing. Mozilla Firefox has been ranked as the number one web browser for computers by many sites and techies. But when it comes to mobile web browsing, Mozilla lags back. After using it for about a month, I found out that Mozilla Firefox was slow if compared to other web browsers in this top 5 list. Don’t believe me? Check out the reviews at the official Mozilla Firefox app page and read it yourself. People are complaining of NO FLASH support, low performance, slow browsing, etc. If you’re still using Mozilla Firefox and expecting the same performance as Firefox computer version gives, STOP dreaming! Shift to some other ones available in the Android market (possibly to Opera).
Miren Browser
It has been given 4 and a half stars at the Android market and I like it as well. Miren browser may be better than some of the browsers available in the market, but certainly not the best. It some times loads slow and I had to once force stop it! Overall the browser looks pretty good, except I find the user interface less attractive. Opera Mini & Dolphin have better interfaces.
I am sure Miren will do better in future.
For now, sorry Miren browser, but you’ve been ranked at number 5 here.

First time seeing the Miren symbol, what is it supposed to represent?
I use Sleipnir which uses a horse from Norse mythology, even though the company comes from Japan. yeh well, I guess the big O of Opera doesn’t really symbolize anything important too.
