QR codes also known as Quick Response (QR) codes have become an important part of life, especially geeks. QR codes allow you to share data in a unique hidden way. With QR codes you can share contacts, messages, web pages (links), etc. Possibilities with QR codes are endless. In future I even expect sharing of music and files with QR codes will be possible.
Well let’s move on to what we are actually supposed to discuss here. How to make QR codes? Making QR codes is very easy and you don’t need to spend a lot of time making one.
Top 5 QR code Generators
1. Kaywa
Kaywa, currently is one of the most popular websites for making a QR code. With Kaywa QR code maker, you can make QR codes for your contacts i.e. phone numbers, text messages (SMS), URL’s and normal text. Here’s a QR code I just made for Woult.Com. It just took 2 seconds.
You can even choose sizes of your QR code; small (S), medium (M), large (L), extra large (XL).
2. Appspot
Appspot offers lots of options to create a QR code. You can create an e-mail QR code, calendar QR code, contact QR code, SMS QR code, Geo location QR code, phone number QR code, text QR code, URL QR code, WiFi QR code, etc. You can choose the QR code image size too.
3. QR Stuff
Unlike the above ones, QR Stuff allows a lot more features to make a perfect QR code. You can make a text, website URL, telephone number, SMS message, email address, email message, VCARD, VCALENDAR, Google Maps location, WiFi login (Android), Paypal buy now link, social media, iTunes link and YouTube video QR code.
You can even print your QR code easily, send your QR code to someone, generate high resolution picture, generate multiple QR codes (batch QR codes), get your QR codes printed on shirts, cup, mugs, etc. You can even give QR codes a custom color. This is the best QR code generator I have found.
4. Keremerkan
This is another good QR code generator with lots of features I found. Though the name is confusing, using this QR code maker isn’t. It offers a lot of options that allow you to customize your QR code to a great extent. You can even create a QR code to directly tweet on Twitter!
5. Beqrious
Beqrious offers most of the features the above generators offer, though not all. It’s still a good QR code maker. With Beqrious you can generate QR code to link to your Blogger profile, Digg profile, etc. It’s quite fast and is presented in an easy to use way.
Enjoy creating QR codes!

Hi, Saksham. Nice blog, but one thing I think you’ve missed is how important colour and size are when using QR codes for marketing purposes. I might want a code that is a couple of feet square to go on a shop window, and I would want the colour to blend in with the client’s logo. Some of the generators above can do colours, and some can do codes one would consider very large for website display, but I’ve yet to find one that can do both, with much larger sizes.
BIt late to the party here but IMHO http://www.qrcodemaker.co.uk is a top QR maker too!
John Bidder, I’m VERY interested in http://www.qrcodemaker.co.uk/
