Skype is available across all leading computer and mobile platforms except Windows. After acquiring Skype some time ago, Microsoft has worked on developing Skype for its home mobile-platform, Windows Mobile. Here’s a very good news for die-hard Skype fans with a Windows mobile phone! According to sources inside Microsoft, it’s believed that Skype for Windows phone will be launched any time soon!
The scheduled launch of Skype for Windows was in late 2011, but for some reasons it couldn’t be launched then. But if the sources are to be believed Skype for Windows will be out any time soon and Windows users will be able to enjoy the most-used and the best internet communication app, Skype.
Initially, Skype for Windows will not be available across all the Windows mobile variants and the older Windows mobiles. The first release of Skype for Windows won’t feature deep Windows Smartphone integration because Microsoft has a different plan for it. Microsoft is planning Skype for Apollo and beyond variants. Now, as Apollo still isn’t available in the markets and is believed to be launched later this year, the Skype for Windows will seem to be an interim release.
The shocking part is that Skype and Windows mobile phone, both are the products of Microsoft, but the only mobile operating system lacking Skype support is Windows mobile! Of course it’s shocking on Microsoft’s part and they should try releasing Skype for Windows as soon as they can because the world is watching!
Till Skype for Windows mobile is launched, you can probably enjoy using Skype on your computer. Check out our Skype offline installer! Stay tuned to Techoclock to get updates on Skype for Windows!
